Best White Label Community App Platforms (2026)
We reviewed eight popular platforms that offer white-labeled mobile apps, and unearthed all the fine print and hidden fees.
A white-labeled community app puts your community in the hands of current and future members, with your own name, branding, and logo in the App Store and Google Play.
Many platforms don't publish a price. You have to book a call and sit through a demo to get a quote. On Heartbeat, we offer transparent app pricing and a commitment to launching in both app stores within six weeks.
So we gathered what we could. Every number below comes from the vendor's own pricing page. Where there is no public price, we'll say so.
Below you'll find eight platforms that offer a branded app, how we picked them, which one fits which kind of business and what to check before you sign.
The short list
Here are all eight side by side. The price shown is the lowest monthly cost that includes your own branded app. "Quote" means the vendor doesn't publish a price, so you have to ask sales for one.
| Platform | Branded app from | Fee on sales | Best for | Cohorts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heartbeat | $766/mo on Scale, billed yearly | 1.25% on Scale, plus Stripe | Paid communities and cohort courses | Yes |
| Honeycommb | About $473/mo, plus a launch fee | 5% on paid subscriptions | Fan and podcast communities | Not listed |
| BuddyBoss App | $1,198 first year, plus hosting | 0% | WordPress owners | Not listed |
| Kajabi | About $342/mo (Basic plus app add-on) | 0% with Kajabi Payments | Course creators | Growth and Pro |
| Disciple | $599/mo, billed yearly | Not listed | Faith groups and publishers | Not listed |
| Circle | Quote (Circle Plus) | 0.5% on Plus | Communities already on Circle | Yes |
| Mighty Pro | Quote | 0.5% | Established brands | Yes |
| Hivebrite | From $895/mo, plus the app add-on | Not listed | Alumni groups and associations | Not listed |
How we chose
Every platform on this list had to meet five criteria:
- Your own app listing. It appears in the App Store and Google Play under your name.
- Your branding throughout. Your logo, colors and icon, not the vendor's.
- Push notifications. The app can ping members when something new happens.
- Community features. Posts, comments and member profiles are built in.
- A way to get paid. You can charge for access, inside or outside the app.
We left some well-known tools out. Skool and Podia don't offer a branded app of their own. General app builders like Zoho Creator and Retool can make an app, but you'd have to build the community from scratch. We also skipped plans where members download the vendor's app and find your group inside it. That can be handy, but the app still carries someone else's name.
The platforms
1. Heartbeat
Heartbeat is built around the community: members talk to each other in channels, meet at live events and take courses together, with memberships and checkout in the same place. Every community comes with a member app, and the Scale tier turns it into your own branded app, with your name, icon and colors in the App Store and Google Play.
The app is published under your own Apple and Google developer accounts, and Heartbeat’s team designs, builds and launches it with you, usually in about six weeks. You choose how to use push notifications, DMs, and events, and Heartbeat handles Apple and Google’s complex and evolving requirements for apps. It's perfect for coaches and creators whose members pay to talk to each other, not just to watch content. Heartbeat has a 14-day free trial, with no card required to start.
2. Honeycommb
Honeycommb is one of the few that prints its app price right on the pricing page. The base network costs $24.99 a month for up to 100 members. Mobile apps add $299 a month, plus a $1,499 launch fee. Pay yearly and that fee drops to $499. To hide Honeycommb's name and use your own domain, add the White Label Bundle at $149 a month.
Add those three up and you're at about $473 a month for a fully branded app. You'll have to commit to a year on the app plan. Honeycommb also keeps 5% of your paid subscriptions, and the base price goes up as you add members. It could work for a podcaster or a creator with a loyal fan base, since the whole thing is built around a social feed. Just know that a fully branded app takes three separate charges, a launch fee and a year on the app plan.
3. BuddyBoss App
BuddyBoss runs on your own WordPress site, and the app is a separate subscription. The web Launch plan costs $199 for the first year, then $399. The App Launch plan, which covers both iOS and Android, costs $999 for the first year, then $1,999. If you only need one store, the Solo plan is $499 for the first year, then $999.
The app goes out under your own Apple and Google developer accounts, which means two more bills. Apple wants $99 every year, and Google takes a one-time $25. Add those to both plans and your first year comes to roughly $1,300, and you still haven't paid for hosting.
Year two costs more. If you like owning every part of your setup and don't mind keeping WordPress, its plugins and two developer accounts up to date yourself, it could work. Give yourself four to six weeks before the app is live.
4. Kajabi
Most people know Kajabi as a place to sell courses and run a business. The branded app comes with the Pro plan, which costs $399 a month if you pay for the year, or $499 if you go month to month. On Basic and Growth it's a $199 a month add-on, so the cheapest way in is Basic plus the add-on, about $342 a month on annual billing.
Kajabi takes no cut of your sales when you use Kajabi Payments, where card processing on Pro runs 2.7% plus 30 cents. Use another processor and Kajabi adds 0.5% on Pro. It could work for course creators who want their lessons, community and email in one place, with an app on top.
The trade-offs add up, though. Basic and Growth include a single community, and Basic caps you at 2,500 contacts, with more sold in blocks of 25,000 for $125 a month. In the app, the community sits in its own tab next to your courses rather than at the center. You can only customize the welcome screen, onboarding carousels and home screen, and your website design doesn't carry over. Publishing usually takes six to eight weeks, and cohort courses need Growth or Pro. If you mainly need a community app, you'll pay for a lot of tools you won't use.
5. Disciple
With Disciple, you don't have to think about servers. They build your branded app and host it too. Disciple lists its prices on its own pricing page. The Branded App plan costs $599 a month and Branded App Pro costs $999 a month, both billed yearly. Bigger organizations can ask about the custom Organisation plan.
The entry plan includes one course you can sell. Unlimited paid courses need Pro. Disciple is aimed at churches, ministries and publishers, for groups that want an app fast without touching code. Creators who sell lots of courses will likely need the higher plan.
6. Circle
On Circle, the branded app only comes with Circle Plus, its top plan, and there's no price for it on the site. To get a price, you have to talk to sales. The upside is a smaller cut of your sales. Circle's fee drops to 0.5% on Plus.
You don't need Plus on day one, though. The cheaper plans already let you use your own domain, and on Business you can take Circle's name off your site. That lets you build on the web first and add an app later, though you won't know what the app costs until you talk to sales. If your community already lives on Circle, moving up to Plus is the most direct route to your own app.
7. Mighty Pro
If you like Mighty Networks but want the app under your own name, Mighty Pro is how you get it. You won't find a price on their site, so you'll need to talk to sales. The fee on your sales is 0.5%, and you get cohort-based courses as well. Ask about contract length early, since quote-based plans can come with longer terms.
In return, you get your own iOS and Android apps plus a team that helps you plan and launch. It might work for established brands and creators with a large paying audience who want hands-on help. For a small or new community, the cost is hard to justify.
8. Hivebrite
Hivebrite is built for alumni networks, associations and member organizations. It includes events, a job board and member directories. Its pricing page lists the Core plan from $895 a month and the Flex plan from $1,995 a month, both billed yearly. Larger plans are priced by quote.
Hivebrite could make sense for groups whose main job is keeping members connected, like a university alumni office or a trade association. If you're one person selling a course or a paid community, you'll end up paying for a lot of tools you won't use. The branded iOS and Android app is sold as an add-on, so ask what it adds to your quote and whose name the app is published under.
Which platform for which business
The right pick depends on two things: how big you are today and how you make money.
| Your situation | Start here | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Paid community that wants the app built for you | Heartbeat Scale | We build, submit and update the app, live in about six weeks |
| Just starting, small budget | Honeycommb | Lowest published price, but three charges plus a launch fee |
| Already on WordPress | BuddyBoss App | You keep your site, data and app accounts |
| Selling courses | Kajabi | Courses, email and app in one account |
| Church, ministry or publisher | Disciple | Hosted for you, set up with faith groups in mind |
| Community already on Circle | Circle Plus | Add the app without moving members |
| Large paying audience, want help | Mighty Pro | A team helps plan and launch the app |
| Alumni group or association | Hivebrite | Directories, events and job boards built in |
A quick rule of thumb. If you have fewer than a few hundred paying members, a branded app may cost more than it earns. Start on the web, prove people will pay, then add the app. If you're past that point and members keep asking for an app, the quote-based platforms are worth a call.
What to check before you sign up
A demo shows you the best version of the product. These four questions show you the bill.
1. Fees at your revenue. Work out what you'd pay at your real sales, then at double. Take Honeycommb's 5% fee. On $10,000 a month in subscriptions, that's $500 a month on top of the plan. Circle Plus at 0.5% would take $50 on the same sales. Also ask about in-app purchases. When members pay inside an iPhone or Android app, Apple and Google can take 15% to 30%.
2. Migration. Ask what moves over and who does the work. Members, posts, courses and payment plans are four different jobs. Moving paid subscriptions between payment systems is often the hardest part. Get the answer in writing.
3. The app itself. Ask three things. Whose developer account is the app published under? Who pushes updates when Apple or Google change their rules? How long until launch? BuddyBoss says four to six weeks. Honeycommb says about one business week.
4. Limits and contracts. Check member caps, contact caps and how prices rise as you grow. Then read the contract. Honeycommb's app plan needs one year. BuddyBoss renews at a higher price after year one. Quote-based plans may ask for longer terms, so ask before you sign.
Frequently asked questions
What is a white label community app?
It's a community app that carries your brand from top to bottom. Members download it from the App Store or Google Play under your name and icon. Inside, they find your posts, groups, events and courses.
How much does a white label community app cost?
Anywhere from a few hundred dollars a month to a few thousand. On the low end, Honeycommb lists a fully branded setup at about $473 a month. BuddyBoss costs $1,198 for the first year, or about $1,300 with Apple and Google developer fees, and you pay for hosting on top of that. Circle Plus and Mighty Pro are priced by quote, so you have to ask their sales teams.
What's the difference between a branded app and a white label app?
People often use the terms the same way. Strictly, a white label app hides the vendor completely: your name, your icon and your store listing. Some "branded" options only add your logo inside the vendor's own app.
Can my app be listed in the App Store under my own name?
On most platforms in this list, yes. Some, like BuddyBoss, publish it under your own developer accounts. Others publish it for you, and Honeycommb charges $99 a month extra to use your own accounts. Hivebrite is the one to check: it sells its branded app as an add-on, and its site does not say whose name the store listing goes under.
Do I need my own Apple and Google developer accounts?
It depends on the platform. BuddyBoss requires them. Apple charges $99 a year and Google charges $25 once.
Can members pay inside the app?
Often, yes. But Apple and Google can take 15% to 30% of in-app purchases. Some creators send members to a web checkout instead, then let them log in to the app.
How long does it take to launch a branded community app?
Anywhere from about a week to a couple of months. Honeycommb says about one business week. BuddyBoss says four to six weeks. Store review is usually the quick part.
Is a white label online course platform the same thing?
They overlap. A course platform focuses on lessons, while a community app focuses on members talking to each other. Kajabi and BuddyBoss do both. Honeycommb leans toward community.
Can I start on the web and add an app later?
Yes. Circle, Kajabi and BuddyBoss all let you run your community on the web first. On Heartbeat, members use the Heartbeat app on every plan, and the Scale plan replaces it with your own. You add the branded app when your plan and your budget are ready for it.
