Best Coaching Platforms (2026): Ranked on Features and Fit

We compared ten coaching platforms for independent coaches on features, 1:1 and group tools, total costs, and more.

Best Coaching Platforms (2026): Ranked on Features and Fit

The short list

The best coaching platform depends on how you work with clients. For 1:1 sessions you need scheduling, payments and client management. If you run group programs or sell courses, you also need a place to manage participants and deliver learning content. This list is for independent coaches who sell their own programs, not companies buying coaching for their staff.

The platforms below serve different kinds of coaching business. Compare their pricing, features and plan limits to find one that fits how you coach.

Pricing note: if a plan is cheaper on annual billing, the table shows the annual price as a monthly figure, and calls it out. Payment processing fees apply even when a platform charges no transaction fee of its own. Features and payment terms vary by plan.

Three coaching platform categories

Coaching software for independent coaches falls into three groups, depending on whether the work centers on the client, the course, or the group.

  1. Coaching practice tools: these handle scheduling, contracts, intake forms, payments and client communication. Paperbell, Simply.Coach, CoachAccountable and Satori fit here. Delenta and CoachVantage are practice tools that also run group programs.
  2. Course platforms that added coaching: these sell learning content, memberships and digital programs, with coaching as one product type. Kajabi, Teachable and Thinkific fit here. If you're weighing a course-led offer, see our comparison of the best online course platforms.
  3. Community platforms for group programs: these put the group at the center, so clients talk to each other between sessions, meet at live events and work through a program together. Heartbeat fits here.

How we chose

We looked for platforms an independent coach can use to run or grow a coaching business. We compared starting prices, payment costs, 1:1 coaching tools, group features, client access and room to grow.

We also considered which kind of coach each product suits. Someone with five private clients needs different tools from a coach selling courses to hundreds of learners.

We left out enterprise platforms such as CoachHub and BetterUp, which mainly serve companies buying coaching for their employees. Coaching.com serves a broader market, but its corporate coaching network and enterprise services aren't comparable with tools for an independent practice.

Prices and features were checked against each platform's published pricing page on November 5, 2026. Plan limits and payment terms change, so check the linked pricing page before you subscribe.

The platforms

1. Heartbeat

Most tools on this list start from the 1:1 client file: bookings, contracts and session notes. Heartbeat starts from the group. It suits a coach whose clients get as much from each other as from the sessions: a group program, a cohort, or a paid membership that keeps past clients around after a package ends.

Clients talk in channels and DMs, meet at live events with Zoom built in, and work through courses together, either evergreen or as a cohort with its own start date. Checkout sits in the same place, with subscriptions, one-time payments, installment plans and free tiers beside paid ones. Clients use the Heartbeat app on iOS and Android, and the Scale plan adds your own branded app in the App Store and Google Play. Heartbeat doesn't book 1:1 sessions, so a coach with a busy private practice would pair it with a scheduling tool.

Plans are Build at $49 a month, Grow at $149 and Scale at $849, with transaction fees of 5%, 2.5% and 1.25% plus Stripe processing. Heartbeat has a 14-day free trial, with no card required to start. For how to run the group side, see our guide to group coaching.

2. Paperbell

Managing coaching packages involves more than booking appointments. You also need to handle payments, contracts and client communication. Paperbell brings these tasks together and lets you build packages that combine appointments, group sessions and downloadable resources.

The platform costs $97 a month or $970 a year. Annual billing works out to about $80.83 a month, saving $194 compared with paying monthly. Both options include unlimited clients, sessions and packages.

Paperbell doesn't charge its own transaction fee, although payment processing fees from Stripe or PayPal still apply. It's worth considering if you sell structured coaching packages and want to manage the client journey in one place. Clients use a portal rather than a native mobile app.

3. Simply.Coach

You don't need an expensive platform to start organizing your coaching work. Simply.Coach offers tools for individual and group coaching, including scheduling, booking pages, forms, contracts and coaching programs.

Starter costs $19 a month, or $9 a month on annual billing, and supports up to three active clients. Essentials costs $39 a month, or $29 on annual billing, for up to seven. Growth ($59, or $49 annually) raises the limit to 30 clients and adds your logo and recurring sessions.

Clients can use the mobile app between sessions. Starter may suit a solo coach with a very small client list, but check its three-client limit before you subscribe.

4. CoachAccountable

Keeping clients accountable between sessions is a large part of coaching. CoachAccountable gives you tools to track goals, assign tasks, record session notes and follow up on commitments. It also includes forms, scheduling, payments and client management.

Pricing starts at $20 a month for up to two active clients and rises with the client count, to $70 for 10 and $250 for 50. Every plan has the full feature set, and only active clients count toward the limit.

This structure can suit coaches with a small client list who need detailed records of their work. It's most useful when sessions involve goals, assignments and follow-up actions.

5. Satori

A coaching relationship often begins before the first paid session. You may need to book an introductory call, collect client information and schedule appointments. Satori brings these tasks together through its onboarding, scheduling, package and payment tools.

Essentials costs $39 a month, or $33 a month on annual billing, and supports up to 10 active clients. Pro costs $59 a month, or $49 on annual billing, and supports up to 50 active clients. It also adds group coaching sessions, custom branding and client reviews.

Satori doesn't charge anything on client payments, although standard Stripe and PayPal fees still apply. Essentials may be enough for a small 1:1 practice, while Pro is worth comparing if you plan to add group coaching.

6. Delenta

If you want to take on group clients, Delenta gives you tools to manage participants, sessions and coaching packages. It combines practice management with features for delivering programs online.

Starter costs $29 a month and supports up to 10 prospect or client portals. Pro costs $49 a month and raises the limit to 40 portals. It also adds group coaching management, group video sessions and group packages. Premium costs $79 a month and includes a digital course creator and the mobile app.

Starter may be enough for individual clients. Compare Pro and Premium if you plan to add group programs or online courses. Delenta says its plans carry no additional transaction fees, although payment processing charges still apply.

7. CoachVantage

Some coaches want to manage private clients while also selling structured programs. CoachVantage combines practice management with tools for booking, contracts, coaching programs and online courses.

The Clarity plan costs $39 a month, or $35 a month on annual billing. It includes unlimited contacts and coaching engagements, two group coaching programs, and limits on booking pages, contract signatures and courses.

The Aha! plan costs $59 a month, or $53 a month on annual billing. It adds unlimited group programs and cohort management. Clarity can work for coaches managing private clients, while Aha! is worth comparing if group programs and cohorts are central to your offer.

8. Kajabi

Selling coaching alongside courses, memberships or digital products takes more than a booking calendar. Kajabi brings website building, email marketing, payments and community tools together, so you can run several parts of your business from one platform.

The Basic plan costs $179 a month, or $143 a month on annual billing. It includes up to five products, 2,500 contacts and one community. Higher plans raise these limits.

Kajabi doesn't take a revenue share from sales. Kajabi Payments charges 2.9% plus $0.30 per card payment on Basic. If you use another processor instead, other than PayPal, Kajabi adds a 2% fee on Basic, on top of that processor's own charges.

Kajabi makes more sense when you have several things to sell. Its subscription may be hard to justify if you only need scheduling and client management.

9. Teachable

You may have knowledge that can help more people than you can serve through private sessions. Teachable gives coaches a way to package that expertise into online programs. It supports courses, digital downloads, coaching products and student management.

Starter costs $39 a month and includes a 7.5% transaction fee. Builder costs $89 a month and removes the platform transaction fee. Payment processing fees still apply, and Teachable provides student apps for iOS and Android.

Teachable is useful if you want to sell structured learning alongside or instead of private sessions. It isn't a full coaching practice system, so you may need separate tools for client notes, scheduling and progress tracking.

The Starter plan's fee adds up if you expect regular sales. At higher sales volumes, Builder may cost less overall.

10. Thinkific

If your coaching offer includes lessons, workshops or group learning, Thinkific gives you a place to build and sell those programs. Its tools support structured courses, communities and live instruction.

Thinkific's Start plan costs $109 a month, or $82 a month on annual billing. It supports live cohorts and coaching, including Zoom sessions, bookable calendars and attendance tracking. The plan also includes course and community features.

Thinkific can help you turn your expertise into a course with live group support. Its branded mobile app is a separate add-on at $199 a month.

What it costs a coach at $2,000, $5,000 and $10,000 a month in client payments

A platform's subscription is only part of the cost. Transaction fees can make a real difference as sales grow, especially for coaches who sell courses or digital programs.

The table compares selected plans at their monthly-billing prices and their stated platform transaction fees.

Platform and planMonthly subscriptionAt $2,000 in paymentsAt $5,000 in paymentsAt $10,000 in payments
Paperbell$97$97$97$97
Satori Essentials$39$39$39$39
Kajabi Basic$179$179$179$179
Teachable Starter$39$189$414$789

The Teachable figures include its 7.5% Starter transaction fee. At $2,000 in payments, that fee is $150, bringing the monthly cost to $189. At $10,000, the fee rises to $750 and the total reaches $789. Above about $667 a month in payments, Builder at $89 with no platform fee costs less than Starter.

The other rows are subscription costs only. None of the rows include payment processing, taxes or currency conversion, which vary by provider, payment method and country. For reference, Stripe's standard U.S. rate for domestic card payments is 2.9% plus $0.30 per successful transaction, and Kajabi Payments charges the same on Basic. Check the rates in your own country before estimating total costs.

A more expensive plan isn't necessarily a worse deal. If it saves time or replaces several separate tools, the extra subscription cost may be worth it. Compare what you'll pay with the features you'll actually use.

Which platform for which coach

The best software for coaches depends on the services they offer, how many clients they manage and how they deliver their programs.

  • For your first clients on a tight budget: Simply.Coach's annual Starter price is low if its three-client limit fits. CoachAccountable is another option for a small active client list.
  • For a full 1:1 practice: Paperbell brings packages, scheduling and payments together. Satori and CoachAccountable are alternatives if client management and progress tracking matter more to you.
  • For group programs: compare Delenta, CoachVantage and Simply.Coach, and check which plan includes group sessions, packages or cohort management. If the group itself is the product, with clients talking to each other between calls, a community platform like Heartbeat fits better. Our guide to group coaching explains how these programs work.
  • For courses and digital products: Kajabi offers broader business tools, while Teachable and Thinkific focus more directly on course delivery. See our guide to the best online course platforms.
  • For a growing coaching business: CoachVantage, Delenta and Kajabi let you add programs, courses or other products as your services develop.

Start with the simplest platform that supports your current work, and move to a more capable system when your client numbers or services justify the cost. If you're still setting up, our guides to online coaching and how to start an online coaching business cover the steps.

Frequently asked questions

Which online coaching platform is best?

It depends on your coaching model. Paperbell, Satori and CoachAccountable suit coaches focused on 1:1 sessions, while Delenta and CoachVantage add group coaching tools. Kajabi, Teachable and Thinkific are better suited to courses and digital programs, and Heartbeat to group programs and memberships where clients learn from each other.

Which CRM is best for coaches?

Simply.Coach, CoachAccountable and Paperbell combine client management with coaching tools. CoachAccountable is useful for tracking client goals, assignments and progress. Paperbell brings packages, contracts and payments together.

What is the best free coaching app?

Most full-featured coaching platforms need a paid subscription, though most offer a free trial. Satori offers a free Scholar plan for people studying for a coaching certification. Free scheduling and video-call tools can also keep costs down while you find your first clients. Heartbeat has a 14-day free trial with no card required, so you can set up a group program and try it before you pay.

Can ChatGPT be my life coach?

ChatGPT can help you reflect on goals, explore ideas and organize an action plan. It can't replace a human coach who offers personal accountability, ongoing support and a deeper understanding of your circumstances.

Do I need a dedicated coaching platform?

No. You can start with separate tools for video calls, scheduling, payments and client records. A dedicated platform becomes useful when juggling those tools takes too much time or makes the client experience harder to manage.

Can I use a course platform for 1:1 coaching?

Yes, but it depends on how you work with clients. Course platforms deliver lessons and organize learning programs. If you also need detailed client records, appointment scheduling and progress tracking, you may prefer a dedicated practice tool, or separate tools alongside the course platform.
